just wanted a bath and a trim. got a call about 30 minutes in saying they couldn’t finish because he keep moving and they said “he’s pretty naked” came and picked him up and his back and only one leg was completely shaved. (he’s only 4 months old of course he’s going to move he was probably traumatized) didn’t trim his head or get his bath. i understand he had mats on his back two legs but he didn’t have any mats on his back so why shave his back? or why touch them when we only wanted a trim?
They have A LOT of stuff. Easy to find what is needed and plenty of help if needed. Unfortunately, every time I go, it feels more like a dog park than a pet store. I get that everyone feels the need to take their dog everywhere they go these days, but geesch. Does Fido really care about going to the pet store? Why not take him/her for a walk outside or to a dog park instead?
Words cannot describe how much Emily, in the grooming department at this PetSmart, has impacted our lives in the best way possible! Our family has just moved to the area and we were very hesitant to find a groomer since our 3 year old has very bad anxiety and our 5 month old has a limb deformity. Jax, our 3 year old who has tons of anxiety, was welcomed with open arms by Emily and they have made him feel so comfortable the past 3 times they have groomed him that he LOVES going to see Emily for his spa days! Lilly, our 5 month old who has a limb deformity, was graciously welcomed by Emily during her first grooming ever. Lilly recently had surgery and wasn’t able to accompany her very anxious brother to their grooming today and Emily went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make Lilly feel included by sending us home with a new bone and toy! I have never met someone who loves their job so much like Emily does. Emily is an amazing groomer and such a caring person who makes everyone feel so welcomed and loved. Thank you so much Emily for accepting our fur babies with open arms and making our day this evening. We appreciate all the grooming service employees!!🐾
They have specials on products, buy 3 get 2 free, but didn't have more than 3 of size I wanted so I had to buy a different size, the larger ones, of the greenies for my small dogs. Geesh. Employees are very helpful and kind. They get 10 stars....
This location deserves negative stars. The staff do not care about their fish whatsoever. I have visited this location a few times over the past few weeks because I am prepping a new aquarium, and I love to look at the betta fish. I went two weeks ago when I saw green cups on green cups on green cups. They do not change the water for the bettas for at least a week at a time, which SHOULD be changed daily. There was a dead betta fish with a bloody tail. The poor thing was so miserable it chewed it off. The staff did not care. I went back a week later and one of the bettas I saw was still there and in poor condition and green water. I decided to rescue it. He has dropsy. It is a very painful infection that is a result of poor water quality and treatment. If he does not improve soon, I will have to euthanize. DO NOT BUY YOUR FISH HERE! I got my other betta at Pet Supplies Plus, and he is very healthy. Even Petco treats their bettas better. A worker there told me they do water changes three times a week, but PetSmart has no workers that care about the fish enough to take care of them. This is very cruel and devastating. Everytime I go, I am ignored by the workers. They are lazy and inhumane.
The staff is always great and does a great job with Yuki. Today was especially exceptional. When my groomer called to let me know Yuki was ready, she made sure to mention some concerns she noticed with my dachshund's nails and how they grow. I was already aware of the issue but really appreciated that she took the time to talk about it. Also, I requested a bow instead of bandana. The staff was great and found a way to attach a pink bow to Yuki's collar. That made my day! Her papers we received when we adopted her 8 years ago state her name is Pink Ribbon Yuki!
While I don't harbor negative sentiments toward PetSmart as a whole, I believe there's room for improvement in catering to aquatic customers to enhance their overall experience. The fish selection falls short compared to other local pet stores, with notable items like amino shrimp not carried, and GloFish Danios & Neon Tetras frequently out of stock.
A major concern is the scarcity of customer-facing staff, making it challenging for customers to obtain assistance in selecting fish. During my numerous recent visits to purchase fish, I have consistently experienced waiting times ranging from 20 minutes to an hour. This has proven inconvenient, especially when attempting to make quick purchases on my lunch break. Regrettably, this issue has prompted me to explore alternatives where such delays are not prevalent. Adding to the inconvenience, the staff at this location are not as friendly as those at competing stores.
While I remain content with the overall PetSmart corporation, I attribute these issues to the specific dynamics of this location. Contrary to my experiences here, I have not encountered these challenges at other PetSmart locations, such as the one in Champaign, IL. Nevertheless, these concerns have inclined me to opt for competitors in the area instead of PetSmart for my aquatic needs.
I stopped in to pickup an order that had been placed online. The store was hosting a dog adoption event for one of the local shelters that day. The employee that helped me was very nice and quickly retrieved my order, and I was on my way.
